Painted on commission from a photo of the original painting. Karan Benner requested another version of the painting I had done in 2008 of the front the coffee shop she and her husband Patrick owned in downtown Lafayette as a birthday gift for Patrick. I had promised to do it back in July but had kind of forgotten about. On the evening before Ellen and I had planned an art-date with someone, Karan texted me a reminder that she needed the painting on Tuesday. It became my project for the art-date.
