Painted for the Zionsville paint-out sponsored by the Sullivan Munce cultural center. This is the first of two paintings I made on the day. It has some problems-the runner should be in a different place or have lighter hair to separate it from the shadows of the trees, and it’s a bit messy. But I’m feeling a little more comfortable with oils now. Still a ways to go though.

The scene is along the Zionsville rails-to-trails that leads to. Starkey Park. My original idea was to put in more figures to make the place look busy. But by the time I got to that stage it was very hot and I was mostly alone.
