Still Lifes
I really have a thing for beets. I don’t know why, but sometimes when I see them in the grocery or the farmers market I just have to buy them. It happened that one of Ellen’s coworkers brought her a couple crook neck squash and a guy at the pottery studio had some nice peppers and tomatoes. Thus was a still life born. I painted it on the porch on a September day. I’ve been thinking about trying more oils and that was the day. Much brighter and more colorful than my pastels usually are. Maybe I should try more…
