It was another cold, dismal day, but Ellen and I decided to do art anyway, so I tried to set up a still life. I put in piece after piece and they were all uniformly awful. Eventually Ellen took pity on me and suggested the red tablecloth as a background with only part of the rug showing. The other elements were among the many, many items I'd tried & rejected. I think I had already started painting before I remembered the bracelet and added it.
