Painted during the 2019 First Brush of Spring in New Harmony, IN. I had driven around the park looking for a place to paint. This dogwood tree was in glorious bloom. I had been disappointed with the dogwood where I had started Laboratory, so I used this tree as a stand-in. After I finished that painting I decided just the tree along would make a nice subject.
