Deep Creek trail, in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is a place I've been visiting irregularly since about 1970. It is off the beaten track, near Bryson City, NC. The trail follows the creek all the way up to the road from Clingman's Dome, the highest point in the park. This spot is nearer to the other end of the trail, near Deep Creek campground.
