Landscapes
Painted on location outside of Fort Harrison State Park.
I started this painting on a fall day and worked for a couple of hours on it. At that point it was probably about half finished (I worked very slowly in those days). By the time I got back to work on it more, the leaves were gone. I put the painting aside until the next year, when I returned to the same spot & finished it.
It was painted with a set of hard pastels someone had given me for Christmas. It only had 12 colors so the few greens got a real workout. And I hadn't learned about cutting back on the black yet. I really like the willow tree on the left. If I had to do it over, I would tone down the black and throw in more color. And the reflection is too perfect. I'd add some ripples.
