Landscapes
Painted along the Deep Creek Trail outside of Bryson City in Smokey Mountains National Park. This is the trail not far beyond Tom's Branch Falls, a beautiful waterfall a short distance down the trail.
This is an area I visit regularly, mostly because it is one of the least crowded parts of the park. Also because I remember it fondly from the canoe club's whitewater week that was based there when I was in high school and college.
I have painted this section of the trail a couple more times since. The trees in this version are pretty simplistic as is the hillside to the left, but I like the figure in the distance.
