I saw my first firefly of the year and the words “Moonless summer night” popped into my head even though it was practically a full moon. I wanted to make this haiku about sitting out on a summer night where the stars and fireflies above and the fireflies in the grass make you feel like you’re floating. I didn’t quite get there, but I like it anyway.
