Hooligan is an Eurasian eagle owl. They are virtually identical to great horned owls. I took his picture when we went to a bookmobile stop where Silly Safaris were doing a visit.
This is the first painting I’ve done in 3 months. I don’t know why. I just haven’t been motivated to paint. It last night at figure drawing I was showing the picture around and realized I wanted to do it as a painting. This morning I set up my gear and started working. Less than two hours later I had this. I wish I hadn’t cut off his feet, but I cut them off in the photo too.
