Painted during the 2023 First Brush of Spring in New Harmony. There is a pottery studio next to the roofless church in New Harmony. They have an artist in residence program and two kilns with basically a carport over them. When I started working the kiln was open and the potter was preparing to load. When I returned the next day they had already started the firing and the front was completely bricked up. Fortunately I had already finished that part of the painting. The pots in the foreground were an afterthought because it needed something.
