Painted for the annual First Brush of Spring paintout in New Harmony. I never paint well in competition, so I decided to paint in oil, a medium I'm not comfortable with - that way if it turns out terrible, I can always blame unfamiliarity with the medium. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.
It was a gloomy day. It had rained steadily the night before but was just overcast all day. For a out of service, decaying bridge it was the right mood.
