I first made this as an experiment with no clear purpose. It was just a useless thing that made a pleasant sound when I blew into it until, on my way to drop off things for the annual sale at the pottery studio I imagined this. If I hung it from a rope, filled it with water and put a plant in it, it would look pretty good. So I took a sprig of the plant I have in a jar of water at work and stuck it in. Now everyone who sees it comments on it.
