A handful of words
Arranged with care can say more
Than whole libraries
and
The telephone rang.
We could not get there in time.
Please speak at the beep.

Traditionally, a haiku is about the natural world. I try to stick to that, but sometimes you need a message for the voicemail, or a five-syllable phrase about words calls out and you end up with a haiku about haiku
