For 13 years or so, I've made cards for my parents' birthdays, Mother's Day and Father's Day, and a few other things.

Also for close to 15 years, I've regularly spent Thursday evenings at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. You can learn quite a lot about art by spending 2-3 hours sitting in front of one painting sketching it.
