I sketched this while sitting on the rocks below the lighthouse on Deer Island, Maine. While I was drawing a large shadow passed over me. I looked up and a bald eagle had just flown about 6 feet over my head. I later made a lackluster watercolor based on this sketch. It convinced me that watercolor wasn't for me.
